About Me

My name is Tara Goodyear. I'm in my early 40s, and I have been overweight most of my life. In 2013, I weighed the most I have ever weighed (480+ lbs.) and I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type II. I'd like to say it was the moment everything changed for me, but it was only one step of many on this journey.

Chasing Botticelli is a record of my life as a fat girl, how society is always pushing us (especially women) to look a certain way and weight only so much, and hopefully also an opportunity for you to bear witness as this fat girl chooses to be healthy instead of eating cheeseburgers all day. It's about moving myself emotionally and physically from fat to fit, one pound at a time.

I'm also a published poet and playwright, rock star in my living room, southern girl with an activist heart, pianist, music fanatic, word obsessor,  lightning rider, blondie-with-a-brain and everything in between.
