Eat to Live or Live to Eat?

Food is a necessity. Our bodies are not designed to go without it and our lives are centered around it. At least mine was for a time.
Food is all around us. It is on t.v. and in magazines. It's at weddings, funerals and every other special or significant event I have ever attended. Food makes me happy, especially when it tastes delicious, and I am a classic over-eater.
My mother was an amazing cook when I was growing up, and my dad is an expert grill-master. We spent a lot of time at the kitchen table when I was a kid, and the equation (food = love) is ingrained in every part of me.
One thing I have learned in my thirty-three years on this planet is that food may be a necessity, but it is also a drug. It is a legal substance that can kill me if I continue to consume too much of it. I am a food addict and I am learning to say no.
