Whole30 Day 3 - Listen to Your Body

On Day 2, I realized that I am definitely an emotional eater and it was quite a leveling realization. Some part of me already knew this about myself but to actually live it and sit with your emotions without your vice to suffocate them is a whole different story.

Day 3 was a little easier, but I think that is because I stopped worrying about how much I was eating and just focused on listening to my body. I've never paid attention to my body or the cues it gives me because I've never used food just as fuel. However, I got some incredible direction from two people who've done the Whole30 challenge, and their advice was this: Don't count calories. Don't worry about the volume you're eating. Just focus on what's in the food you're eating.

It's amazing what happens when you no longer stress about eating too many grapes in one sitting. For lunch, I packed my lunchbox for fear I wouldn't have enough to eat and then I only ate a fraction of what I packed. Why? Because I paid attention and listened to my body.

Here's what I ate throughout Day 3:

Breakfast: 3 boiled eggs and a Fuji apple

Snack: Cashews

Lunch: Roasted chicken with Avocado, Sugar Snap Peas, Grapes and Raisins

Snack: Raisins and cashews

Dinner: Sweet potato "fries" made with coconut oil, ham and green beans

Dessert: Cashews

I'm only 1/10 of the way through this thing, but I feel good about choosing the Whole 30 challenge. I'm proud of myself and I'm excited about what comes next.
