How I'm Going to Lose 300 lbs.

I've looked everywhere I could online to find stories of other women like me who needed to lose at least 300 pounds or more. Most of the success stories I found were from people who'd undergone various types of weight loss surgeries. At the time, I wasn't a candidate for weight loss surgery because I had no co-morbidities. I was just severely overweight.
Then, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and weight loss surgery was suddenly an option. Actually, it was the first thing my Diabetic counselor recommended. I've thought a lot about weight loss surgery over the years - after all, I didn't gain 300 pounds overnight - and each time I do, I come to the same conclusion: it's just not for me. I respect the right to choose and I am grateful that this option exists, but I want to put in the sweat and time to get healthy. I want to because I know myself well enough to know I have to put in the time and hard work if I'm ever going to keep the weight off.
I've thought a lot about my weight gain and how I got where I am. I'm an emotional eater (duh!) and I'm completely addicted to food. Food addiction isn't something I can detox from, and it isn't something I can quit cold turkey. Food is one of life's necessities and no matter what anyone says, there's no quick fix to losing weight. If I'm going to lose weight and keep it off, I need a program that works. Alcoholics have AA, drug addicts have NA, gamblers have GA and food junkies have Weight Watchers.
I've never worked the Weight Watchers program, but I know people who have. It's a slow-and-steady approach, but it works. Now that I have fully accepted that losing 300+ pounds is going to take YEARS, I am ready to do the work with Weight Watchers to be successful.
So, how am I going to lose 300+ pounds? Weight Watchers.
