Making Progress

I am proud to report that my #WednesdayWeighIn went awesome - I lost another 1.8 pounds! My total loss to date is 5.4 pounds!

I've attended 6 Weight Watcher meetings, including the day I joined, and I've only just started seeing results over the past 2 weeks. But wow! What GREAT results! So, my recent success has made me wonder: what am I doing differently?

Here are 6 changes I've made since joining Weight Watchers:

  • Eat. I eat something, even if it's just a piece of fruit, every 2-3 hours I am awake. I feel like I'm always eating, but this means I also never feel hungry.

  • Hydrate. I am not really a fan of water, but hydration is essential - especially when trying to lose weight. So, I bought a 32 oz. bottle of water and I refill it at least once throughout the day to ensure I'm getting the H2O I need.

  • Track Everything. If it goes in my mouth, it goes in my tracker. For me, seeing what I eat every day enables me to see what my successes and opportunities are.

  • Choose Better. The amazing thing about Weight Watchers is that I can eat anything I want as long as I track my points and stay within my allotted points. But by tracking everything that goes into my mouth, I have learned how much more I can enjoy if I make better food choices. I can eat a handful of cherries, grapes and strawberries to satisfy my sweet tooth, or I can eat a sliver of pie.

  • Be Accountable. I joined Weight Watchers 5 weeks ago and I have gone to a meeting every single week. Knowing I am going to step on the scale in front of a stranger makes me think a lot more about what I eat throughout the week. I want to do better for me, but I want to show I'm doing better too. I've never been good about being accountable to myself, so being accountable to Weight Watchers is what helps me be successful.

  • Move. I'm not a gym rat and I don't know if I ever will be. I'm not a fan of exercise and I'm lazy. However, Weight Watchers gives me activity points for everyday activities like doing laundry and cleaning my house. So, I'm moving more and tracking it all because the more I move the more freedom I have with my food.

These 6 changes have helped me immensely, but making them all at once can be hard. I've taken my time and I'm seeing the results when I step on the scale, which is what matters most to me. I have 250+ pounds to lose, and I'm not going to lose them overnight. But, with Weight Watchers, I'm confident I'll get there soon enough.

As I've said before, Weight Watchers is not a diet. It's a lifestyle change where all the tools and support you could ever need or want are available to you. Weight Watchers is working for me, and I'm loving it!
